Magic
Magical Focus
Everyone who uses magic, whether they are from Terra Dei or Marē have a single magical focus (with the exception of dragons).

- Air/Wind
- Earth
- Fire
- Water
- Light
- Shadow
- Mind
- Body (to include blood)
- Spirit
- Space
- Time (extremely rare, contact Mods prior to creating someone with this focus)

*** Guns in this world are magic. They are specifically imbued to a particular person, and once that person dies, the gun is no longer usable. There are very few of them and they are extremely limited.
Magic and Daemona
For Daemona, magic is a gift. As such, it stems from their connection to their God, Daemon, and to the house itself. Someone who rejects either the house, or their God, or the gift of their magic, will lose their ability to do magic. Increasing one's connection to Daemon, can also increase their magical ability.

Part of the testing for Daemona includes a test to recognize magic. Only magic can recognize magic.
​
Female magic users of similar training and experience will be stronger than their male counterparts, with non-binary people falling between the two.
Magic and Marēns
There is not a single Marēn that does not have a magical ability of some kind, whether it is the ability to change shapes (such as mermaids and selkies) or to do magic, they all have the ability. There are a few magic using humans alive in Marē, but they have to stay close to the border. They can undergo a ritual that will change them to allow them to venture into the interior of Marē, but it is extensive, and it will change them and their magic. There is a high likelihood of failure, but it has been successfully performed in the past.

Like Terra Deiens, they can also recognize another magic user, even if they cannot identify what type of magic user they are.
​
Marēn spies sent to Terra Dei are taught how to falsify the results of their testing to avoid placement with Daemona.
​
Currently, Marēns are stronger than Terra Deiens in terms of magical ability. The only novices in Marēn society are children and an intermediate in Marē would be equivalent to a Master level in Terra Dei.
