TERRA DEI: AN ORIGINAL CHARACTER RPG

God: Daemon
Matriarch: Savine Daemona
Patriarch: Gnosis Daemona
First: Rudolf Daemona

Base: Far to the north

Colors: Sable/Black, no secondary color

Size: ~3000 members
Cloaked in secrecy, most of the commonly held knowledge of House Daemona contradicts itself with every generation. It is widely believed that they alone hold any magic left by the gods, but what they use it for, no one can say. Others say that they are all traitors and remain only in power in the hopes that they will not betray them to foreign peoples. Better that Terra Dei stays in the hands of Terra Deiens than someone else.
What is formally known about them is they almost always wear black when seen out of their House and that they are (nearly) never out of favor with the King or Queen-Elect. (Traitors are dispatched quietly and quickly.) While they have grounds inside Pax, very few of their numbers are ever there. They have a formal base in the north, in the shadow of the mountain range that divides them from Svorolds known as The Teeth of the Moon , but no one outside their House (and presumably the ruling regent) has ever been.
What is not widely known is that the members of house Daemona swear their allegiance to the ruling King or Queen. Many times they are spymasters and assassins, and talented in the arts of guile and subterfuge. Many of them have secondary magical talents including but not limited to teleportation, telepathy, astral projection, scrying, elemental magic, etc. It is rumored that some have been necromancers, others capable of changing their form, and some that can create a realm simply out of their mind and will, but only the rulers of this house know the truth. If House Andorian is the brute strength of Terra Dei, and roused by the beat of the war drums, then House Daemona is the silent sliver of a dagger between the ribs.
Some notes about magic:
In Terra Dei, magic is a gift. As a gift, if someone were to reject their magical ability, or House Daemona, or the god Daemon, they would lose their ability to do magic. Most of our magical falls upon natural lines and tends to be elemental based but that is not a requirement.
Gossip
- House Daemona is full of traitors.
- House Daemona alone has magic gifted by the Gods and that's why they've stayed in power for so long.
- Members of House Daemona should be feared-- and wisely so. People that cross them often do not return.
- It is said that they used to infiltrate other houses to learn their secrets, but many believe this is no longer true.
